Shave Soaps are great! They are the most traditional way to shave. They produce a light airy lather, and tend to have very light fragrance. They can be a little drying, so not great for dry skin, although this can countered by using a moisturiser. Long lasting (generally 6-9 months) and great for sensitive skin.  

They typically come in wooden bowls or plastic tubs or without a container for popping into a shave mug or bowl. If you don’t have a shave mug, then buy one with a wooden bowl for around £15-25 or a plastic bowl for less than £10, but after that it's just a refill you need. The bowled variety makes fantastic gifts too.

You will need a shave brush, so head over to our Shave Brushes sections to pick one. Unfortunately not suitable for hand applying - you just cannot muster up the lather!
